WATER RESOURCE PLANS
FOR RURAL & FRONTIER COUNTIES
NRS 278.0228 states that governing bodies must have a water resource plan by July 1, 2029 and it must be updated every 10 years.
WHO WE ARE:
An interdisciplinary team of DRI scientists specializing in hydrologic sciences, data analysis, and community engagement.
WHAT IS A WATER RESOURCE PLAN?
A comprehensive plan that details the water resources of the county, the current and projected-future uses of this water, and implementable strategies to ensure water resources meet the needs of the community into the future. DRI is working with counties to help them update or develop a water resource plan.
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE:
- Technical expertise and guidance for plan development at no cost to the county.
- Funds to support county involvement in plan development.
- Coordination with counties, Nevada Division of Water Resources & other Nevada water resource planning experts.
