SUMMARY:STEM Professional Development Training: Truckee Watershed STEM Curriculum
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Truckee Meadows Water Authority\, the Desert Research Institute STEM Education Program has created two new middle/high school lessons! These two lessons will use computational simulations to illustrate how water management within the Truckee River watershed balances human sustainability and environmental biodiversity. The first lesson focuses on water management of dams and reservoirs\, and the second lesson focuses on urban source water protection. This professional development training will lead educators through the online resources and allow educators to discuss how these resources could best be implemented in their classrooms. Although this training will cover grade level standards\, all interested educators are welcome to attend! \nEducators who attend the session will be eligible for up to 1.5 Continuing Education hours. Note that this training can be taken in conjunction with the 9/27 Watersheds and Water Quality training and the 11/8 Solar Homes training to earn a full 0.5 credit (7.5 CE Hours). See the DRI Professional Development page for more information. \nClick here to register: https://forms.gle/Ei4rmpe2eBoijdnU7
